Bachata shows and workshops
Güiramigos DanceCompany is the bachata show team from Utrecht, the Netherlands. Our history begins in 2011, where we formed a student demo team linked to the dance school Union Salsa. After a successful run, the coach left and the student team disbanded. However, three of the members decided to build a new team and relive the show team experience.
As a new group of motivated amateur dancers, we created our own first choreography in 2012. One that we proudly performed an entire year. It was time to think bigger and expand our vision. Our new mission was to connect with the world through bachata. We worked harder and developed in dance and musicality. Our independence and group dynamics made us grow close as a group of friends united by a mutual love for bachata and performing on stage. Strength through unity, friendship and joy became the core values of our vision. That’s when we dubbed ourselves Güiramigos DanceCompany.
Developing new choreographies in the last years we thrived in enriching our shows with sensual and sexy dips and movements alternated with spectacular lifts and tricks. Our style is characterized as bachata moderna mixed with the best of Dominican footwork, sensual body movements and astonishing acrobatics! We had the opportunity to dance and give workshops with great artists, such as Ataca y la Alemana, Korke & Judith and even perform during a live concert of the well know bachata band Grupo Extra. We presented our show over 80 times in the Netherlands, and abroad in countries such as Morocco, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany and Romania. As of May 2018 we will be presenting our new 3-couple bachata show. Are you also very curious and do you want to see us dance, please have a look below or at our Facebook page where you can find the latest information.
Our workshops emphasize technique, practicality and fun. In order to fully connect with our workshop visitors, the entire team of six to ten members attends to the workshops. Giving visitors optimal personal attention and introducing them to our group culture of unity, friendship and joy: the Güiramigos experience.
